Just a quick post today to share with you my new way to disguise a midsection. Although, I can’t actually tell if I am disguising or creating one with this outfit, so take your pick. I think in general that boxy, slightly voluminous tops like these look best with skinny pants or shorts to create a balance for the volume, but here I needed the pleating on the top of these slacks to have less pouf, so I just kept the pouf going all the way up. The pants are a strange hybrid of skinny, cropped, pleated, and harem, so I guess I have my bases covered, but it’s no secret that these pants are a styling challenge for me. I love a good challenge, however, so I gave it another go.
Big thanks to Jane of FrothyGirlz for featuring me on her post. I already thanked her on several other social media outlets, but who doesn’t like to be thanked repeatedly? A link to the post will now reside on my Features page.

I think you style both perfectly, and I agree that pants is just a challenge, I probably wont be able to style it..but at the same time, I seriously love the cut, the relax fit and the cropped length, I think its perfect!! I love your tribal top, as much as a pattern person that I am, I dotn really like tribal prints eventhough they are so in this season, I like your though its not too much and it doesnt have the weird color mix as most of tribal clothing are.

I think the pants are just perfectly perfect:) I like how you paired the voluminous top with the slim pleated pant. Plus that top is very interesting in print.
Firstly, I want that top.
Secondly, I wish I could take you shopping in my closet as I am in need of help (what to get rid of, what just needs re-working, how not to dress like a tool, etc.).
Thirdly, you are welcome – I love your blog and what you are doing!

Great top!!
I think you styled the pants just right! I admit that I’m a little scared of the front pleat pants but seeing you in these makes me think that they’ve come a long way…I’m tempted to give them a try…
Love the top and especially the clogs. The design on the top helps to balance that middle body section. Great look!
You’ve got the legs to rock a pair of skinny crops – or anything else for that matter!
(I blame you for the Worishofers – you put me over the edge!)
Lovee the top! That necklace always catches my eyes!

You are too cute, I loooooove these pants! Pleated pants are pretty much my fave right now!
I love the print on your top.
love your style.
Looks good — a perfect comfy-casual.
I have a similar pair of pants which I am just now remembering so they must have fallen behind the dresser or something, but they are even more blousy than this pair so I really appreciate the style tips! Pouf all the way, I like it 😀
