I’ve been habitually complaining about my desire to wear racer back tops this summer, and how I can’t deal with the strapless bra I thought it required in order to not have my bra straps showing. Since I have serious strapless bra issues (ie they make me short of breath and I hate them), I decided to take myself over to the bra experts at Underwear here in Austin to find a solution. Right away I was shown the most beautifully simple racer back bra complete with a front closure, lacy back, in a pretty light peach color. When I put it on, I couldn’t believe how comfortable it felt. Since the straps meet in the back, between your shoulder blades, instead of on the sides, the weight is all placed squarely and it gives you more of a stable lift. And there’s nothing like a stable-lifting bra when you’ve got some weight up there. I was also told that smaller-chested women can benefit from the racer back because it can lift more naturally than a regular bra can. Win-win I tell you!
So mark my words: I will never show you my bra straps again. Oh yeah, and this bra actually has super cute stictching on the bra straps! See?

Well, what I want to know is, if women with small chests can’t wear strapless bras, and women with large chests can’t wear strapless bras, who the hell can wear them and WHY ARE THERE SO MANY DAMN CLOTHES THAT REQUIRE THEM?
Yes, I really am shouting that. And yes, a racer back that fits is so important, showing bra straps is such a style faux pas.
It’s like MAGIC. How have I never owned a racerback before?? And does the racerback guarantee a beautifully toned back like yours too, b/c then you’ve REALLY got me sold.
I’ve got some convertible bras that let me cross the straps in the back, giving the racerback effect, and they are gold. But I think yours is even better because there’s no danger of the hooks coming undone (as happened to me while jumping to catch a frisbee in the park…d’oh!)

Hooray for racerback bras! I usually get the bras that you can convert into the racerback type. This one you bought looks amazing though.
