When I close my eyes and picture what I want to look like while I sip morning cocktails and eat lemon curd drenched pastries, I am wearing this outfit. That’s why I decided to pair my favorite pencil skirt with my favorite lace-trimmed drapey white tank together for my birthday brunch at Perla’s. The wind was high, but everything stayed in place (except my hair, which was kind of a surprise).
When wearing a high-waisted pencil skirt, it’s best to pair it with something a little looser and voluminous on top, so as to balance out the proportion of the fitted skirt. I also had to go with some shoes with a bit of height to them, to lengthen the appearance of my legs. Also, if you’re gonna do something with a crazy pattern on bottom, keeping the top simple makes for a clean look, though I also like the idea of wearing some real thin, simple cream and navy stripes with this skirt….hmmm.

Such a lovely skirt for spring!
Hi! I like your new home
And those shoes.
Ooh, this is cute. I love the idea of the stripes, too. Please show us if you do it! I’m always looking for pattern-mixing inspiration. Because I am shy with it :).
