I’m posting today from sunny California, where the weather is too chilly for this outfit from last week. It’s weird how you totally forget what normal weather feels like until you experience it again. I can’t really imagine a more perfect climate than California, actually, though I miss looking at my recently planted tropical plants (and husband and Penny) while I drink coffee in the morning. This hotel coffee isn’t really cutting it!
Anyway. This is a warm-weather look that I wore last weekend to work, then to a fun birthday dinner with the girls. It was the perfect thing to wear to feel put-together during the day, and a little flirty and cute at night. It’s pretty short, but the flounciness makes up for it, and the v-neck elongates. I think if I was going to be somewhere a little fancier, I would switch out the belt for one more structured, and the shoes for something a little more sleek. But for Austin, fancy doesn’t come around too often, does it? Best to be comfortable!

I’m also a big fan of that dress. But I just don’t get Forever XXI! I never shop there because all the dresses and rompers are just too short for me. It’s sad. But alas – that dress is cute.
