During my styling event a few weeks ago at Stella Says Go, I was doing a little demonstration about how to change up your basic outfits with different accessories. I made three different looks with each outfit, and one look was a casual day look, with jeans, a black t-shirt, and flat sandals. I rolled the cuffs of the jeans to change up the look, and an audience member asked me, “Can you really cuff your jeans like that? I heard it was dorky!” And my resounding answer was “Yes! You can do whatever you want!” I find cuffing my jeans a nice way to change the feel of the outfit. A loose cuff gives the outfit a bit of a fun, preppy feel, and definitely shows off the shoes in a cute way. That doesn’t seem dorky at all to me! What do you guys think?
Doing a little something different with some straight-legged jeans can totally change the whole outfit, and give you a jumping-off point for outfit inspiration! I think these purple jeans would look cute cuffed with just a basic t-shirt or white button-down and Chuck Taylors, too. More options=money saved=happiness!

Of course you can cuff your jeans.” But really though, I’ve increasingly felt that while I’ve developed a couple loose “rules” or maybe more styling tricks that I like to employ, there really aren’t any hard an fast rules that I stick by (and nor should anyone else!)

LOVE the purple jeans. You would be amazed at how hard it is to find colored jeans in Tennessee. I can’t find them even at thrift stores. And I really want a pair of red or orange ones. And I love how you rolled them It adds the perfect finishing touch.
