This was a challenging little number to style, nothing like yesterday’s sweater which I can’t stop wearing! There’s something about a super 60’s kind of dress that temps a lady like me to wing her eyeliner out and slick her hair back like Twiggy. However, Halloween has come and gone, and since I actually have to interact with people in a semi-serious kind of way, I decided instead to modernize this baby.
- Keep it simple. Choose other solid colors, simple jewelry. Let the cute dress be the star (by just wearing solid tights and layers).
- Select angular shaped, cropped toppers. I had trouble with this one because none of my layers were working for me. Blazers seemed to conflict with the cut and cardigans didn’t vibe right. I settled on the tuxedo jacket, but wished it were grey and more cropped.
- Try adding one unexpected item to keep it modern. Of course flats always look adorable with mod dresses, but I chose to wear these flat boots to mix it up a little bit.
Now go forth and conquer your most costumey of dresses!

Cute dress! What I like most about mod clothing is how simple it is to sew 😀 Also how graphic it is. I already have a sewing idea, thanks for that post ^_-

Those boots look great with your cute little mod dress! I really like the blazer paired with it too.
I like the color combination, It looks preppy to me, nice, clean cut apparel. Anyway, thanks for that blazers, now I can have a design for my blazer. I t really looks regal and executive looking to me.
This dress is absolutely adorable! I love it! x

Love the look. Zara always seems to have a great selection of these types of angular, color-blocked type dresses. I love them! And the tiny zippers are pretty sweet too!
