This has been probably the most gorgeous winter in my entire lifetime of winter memories, weather-wise. This 72 degrees business is a far cry from frozen water heaters, 8 feet of snow, no septic tank, and intermittent electricity! If I still lived in Maine or New York I would have to wait til May to wear this outfit, but Austin weather is perfect for loose layers you can squeeze tight around you if you get chilly, and let drape around you when you’re in the sun. The key to wearing long, loose layers is to wear some fitted element with them, like your booty-hugging jeans, for instance. Also, to balance out a long cardigan, it helps to wear some stacked heels, and while you’re at it try tucking in your tee to your jeans to give yourself a little extra leg. This way you look a little Stevie Nicks, but without the coke-induced feather hat.
