Last week I stopped at a few thrift stores to see if I could find some basic summer skirts and blouses in solid colors, to mix with the abundant patterned items I already have. NO DICE. I did, however, find this weird printed silk tunic and some barely worn vintage Ferragamos for only $9.99, along with the loafers I wore here. Who am I kidding, anyway? I will take weird tunics and two pairs of brown shoes over basic solids any day. Do you guys go thrifting with lists or do you just browse and see what you find?
There is still one more day to sign up for my event at Stella Says Go, so if you’ll be around tomorrow why not stop by? I may make some jokes and/or drop a belt on my foot in the process of showing you ways to alter outfits with accessories and shoes.
And yes, these are earrings made by Rachel at Koukla Mou Designs. Cute, huh?

i am all about tunics right now – loving this! sometimes i have a list in my head….but really, when finding something great at the thrift, there’s no way im passing it up b/c its not on my list!
I cant believe you found those shoes!
I’ve been searching for some of those since ever and i never have luck. They are gorgeous though and you look cute!
Cool look. I need to go thrifting soon; it’s been too long! I always find odd pieces but friends/co-workers always gush over them… especially when they hear it was $2!
lovely outfit!!
love your earrings
Love those shoes!!
Awesome find.
Yeah – no lists for me with thrifting.
I just dive in.
It’s about a 2-hour endeavor and a piled high shopping cart every time I go…
Love your tunic and yes those earring are super cute!!!

I love the detailing on that tunic…great outfit!
oooo i want a pair of vintage Ferragamos so bad! nice score. the tunic is really cool too! i normally don’t have a list when i go thrifting.. i find i have better luck that way. 😉
I do both! I go with a vague (or sometimes specific) list but remain open to any and all promising pieces. Then I whittle down based on price, redundancy, etc. It’s been a struggle for me to find solid skirts too.
I looooove your new tunic though! it’s really a charmer. Love the lil pop of color in the earrings too
xoxo
Awesome top
I got a list of items I’d really like but it can take years to find the one that’s just what I am looking for. Meanwhile I find other pretties I never knew I was dying to get my hands on 😉
Well done! I love this look. Isn’t it funny how thrift store finds often go together? Funny and awesome.

I swear that every time I go thrifting with a “want list” I never ever ever find anything that I am looking for. It’s kind of funny. As a result, I have more or less given up on carrying a list and just go with the flow.
I used to go thrifting with list but i always end up with no such luck…so now i don’t bother anymore and just hope to be surprised

You are so lucky to have found those amazing shoes! I usually try to shop with a list or item in mind. I too have been on the hunt for skirts. Because I couldn’t find any that I wanted to spend my money on, I decided to make my own. I haven’t sewn in a while, so my mom said she would supervise. I plan to start this weekend. Excited!
I usually go to Goodwill looking for skirts. I love them and always feel like I never have enough of them. But usually I come out with at least one blouse or top. And that’s a great tunic by the way! Awesome find on the shoes too!
love this outfit, laurel! the tunic looks great with those superskinny jeans.
I am seriously crushing on that tunic, great find!
I love the slightly-oversized tunic paired with skinny jeans. Cute, cute!
