Sometimes, Austin provides the most perfect weather imaginable. To me, that weather is chilly enough for tights, but not so cold that I have to wear my giant winter coat. Sometimes, when it’s 105 degrees in Austin, I wonder why I live here, but then there are days like this one! Days when I can wear this outfit!
The full skirt is a little tricky. It’s a tad long, and therefore requires a little lift in the shoe realm. I of course never miss an opportunity to wear my ankle boots, but I am thinking of perhaps hemming this baby just above the knee so that I might get a little more wear out of it. The fullness in combination with the length makes it somewhat more challenging than a nice neutral denim-colored skirt should be. Luckily I could pair a relaxed sweater, scarf, and a tweedy blazer and tights with it to balance it all out. Summertime options with a full skirt are a little less plentiful!
Now it’s off to finish my latest newsletter before figuring out what to wear to the Morrissey show tonight (the most exciting night of the year).
