Hello, summertime! It’s time to get out that self-tanner again and wear my bright & happy shorts! I love these because they’re high-waisted, stretchy, and a fetching shade of bright cobalt blue. The best shorts flare slightly away from the thigh and dip down long enough to let nothing hang out (obviously). I like to wear looser fitting tops with my shorter shorts to allow for some nice balance, and to prevent me from feeling too self-conscious about showing so much pale, pale skin.
When my clients ask if they are “too old” to wear shorts, I ask them if they have any they feel good in, and we analyze them, and the feelings they illicit. Most women have a comfort zone when it comes to how long or loose their shorts are, and I help them find it. I really do believe that confidence trumps age in many cases, and it’s impossible to provide a hard and fast rule without exploring specifics.
