Here’s an outfit inspired by my recent sojourn on Town Lake with the exceptionally wonderful staff at Service Menswear, in honor of yet another good friend’s departure to New York. Can I just say that it’s way more likely you’ll be invited on a boat here in Austin than in New York? Okay then.
So what do you wear on a boat? Why, something a little nautical and brightly hued, of course! I found this fun little top at my love-to-hate retailer, Forever 21, and since it’s cropped, I chose to pair it with a higher-waisted pencil skirt. The crop of the top highlights the waist and is much more flattering with a bottom that also highlights that there waist. The stripes and the little front knot felt very seaworthy, and white shoes on a boat just felt totally right too. Now, if I could get invited onto more boats without my buddies leaving for New York all the time I would be happy as a clam (or bat).

That crop top is really cute on you! I love the summery color and how it ties at the waist.
