It was rainy at the woodpile this morning, but I did not want to deprive my beautiful readers of my amusing outfit today. Some octogenarians commented on the lace, asking me if it was vintage, and I schooled them on the wonders of ModCloth. It only appears to be vintage…Anyway, the blazer IS vintage, and a gift off my friend Barie’s adorable back, some years ago. It has that weird old smell, and I love it. It also has elbow patches, which make every blazer better in my opinion.
I’ve been telling my patients and families about my transition away from social work, and most of them are happy for me, but today it was a bummer, saying goodbye to a family I’ve been visiting for a year now…I feel bad abandoning them, and it always feels a little weird telling them that I’m a stylist, since I am just getting used to being one myself! It’s hard to imagine not being a social worker anymore, but oh so exciting at the same time.

While I don't believe there's such a thing as a "selfless" act, what you've been doing with your life for the past how ever many years requires a lot of giving of one's self for the good of others. Don't feel guilty. You've something wonderful for others and now it's time you do something wonderful for yourself.
