Ever since I bought these red jeans I have been dreaming of wearing them with blue. Well, the day I dreamed of finally arrived. I found this blouse at Buffalo Exchange and immediately knew it was destined for a fiery affair. Are you flummoxed by bright colors?
- If you’re new to pairing brights, start out by wearing just one bright color at a time, like I did the first time I wore these jeans.
- If you aren’t sure the combo works, but think it does, try wearing a bright accessory or a subtle stripe to ease into it slowly, like I did here.
- When you discover a color combo you love, keep the accessories neutral to let the main combo pop. I love plum and chartreuse, orange and pink, and bright greens and mustard together. With these combos you can add navy, black, beige, or grey shoes and layering pieces if you want to tone it down a little.
- Keep the prints and textures simple. If you’re wearing super bright colors, let that combo shine!
I love playing with colors, and even though it sometimes takes a little extra time and effort, the only way to discover the best combos is to just try a bunch of different pieces together til you find the two that sing! I will help you do this to whatever degree you might be comfortable with when we have a wardrobe consultation. Color is something many women forget about, but makes such a happy difference when it returns!
