Here I am eating my words (which I would reference if I could but I can’t find) about never wearing knee-high socks because I’m too old. You guys, I am waaay too old to pull off the over-the-knee socks trend, but I think I can do a just-under-the-knee sock thing, right? As long as they are with boots? And the color of the socks is similar to the color of the boots?
Maybe six years ago I was told (you know who you are) that my adorable knee-high socks were not appropriate or professional for my social work job. I begrudgingly agreed, and stayed far away from those socks because I associated them with the trauma of criticism. Rest assured that no counseling took place while wearing these socks. Only dog-walking, margarita-drinking, and party-attending.
Glad I got all that off of my chest.

Don't let the anti sock man get you down. Your socks look fierce, and not at all silly on you! I think under the knee, under the boot, and mellow color is a perfectly classy application of knee socks. Age appropriate and all that.
PS I am so sorry for being such an absent reader. I love your blog and I am determined to catch the hell up with your 30 for 30 challenge!

I think you pull of knee high socks like a pro….and I am in love with your dress!!
I think just under the knee socks are cuter anyway;) and this outfit is soooo GREAT. as always.
with knee high boots, knee high socks totally work. and not in a little kid unprofessional way either.
I will agree that the knee high sock waters might be tricky to navigate, but this way is always a winner.
Chic on the Cheap
First things first – I WANT THAT DRESS!!! [If you ever wanna part with it, pls let me know!]
Secondly – Totally get what you mean by the knee high socks!!!
Cute as a button! Love it
Can I have that dress please?! Also, I think you pull off the socks. They are very cute without being too young. I love this outfit!
i love everything about this.

They look great on you. They are fantastic with the boots but I bet you could pull them off easy even without. You sure got the legs for it
You definitely have the knee sock with boots look down – I think you look great!
I wish I could pull it off but I'm too short!
You look awesome! You can definitely pull off the knee-socks π Love them with the boots, and that dress is really great, such an interesting print!
Happy Valentine's Day!

I love that dress! The colors look so pretty on you. And I think you are totally rockin' those knee high socks lady. Love em!
xx
I think the socks and boots of similar color are perfectly appropriate for you. I think of the socks as an extension of the boot, kind of like how a lot of boots come with a sweater cuff. I think I'm starting to grow out of my knee-sock phase, which is a shame because I have quite a collection. But at least they're still nice to wear under pants on cold days.
I like the knee socks, and I think you've done well pairing them with the similar toned boots. And, that dress is fantastic!
Your socks and your dress are a really perfect combination here, seriously!! I never think that girly dress look so good with thigh high sock and riding boots!! Good combination

You're a social worker!!! No way!!! Well you're certainly a lot more stylish than the leather elbow patched, dangly earing-ed brigade I work with!!
Oh my gosh! you look wonderful!
I love the whole look! And i think you are not old for the socks. You make them look so good!

Hmmm. Is this my favorite outfit so far? I think so!
for my current gig as a social worker in a nursing home, i’m so glad i have no one stylish that works with me. i don cute dresses nearly every day, and could probably sneak in some knee-high socks if i was feeling daring that day!
