Here’s another dress I last wore in winter that I dug out for a nice summer dinner date. The color and print are actually more summer than winter, and in fact, I thought it would be fun to style it like I was on some sort of tropical vacation. I added the brown accessories to dress it down and feel more like Tahiti than Austin.
Here are a few tips for a stunner of a first date dress:
- Show a little skin, but not too much. I like the high neckline of this dress because it balances out the shorter length. Even though I am showing leg, I don’t feel like I am giving the impression that it’s gonna be that kind of a date. Even if it might be (wink wink).
- Have fun with a little color or print. I mean, you aren’t boring, so why should you wear head to toe navy in the middle of the summer when you’re trying to impress? Wear something that’s fun. It will make you feel more fun, and then your date will be more fun. Unless your date is boring, which is another issue entirely.
- Hide your nerves with some print. This print is flattering because it’s smaller, and it acts as camouflage for the belly AND sweat. This way you can eat all you want and sweat all you want and you wont get too distracted by it. You can focus more on flirting when you’re wearing a print!
- Find a dress that flatters your body shape. This dress is gathered into a little knot in front, which is a great style for creating curves. You don’t need a waist when the dress does it for you!
Here are a few other dresses that I found on asos.com, all under $100, which might be cute for a first date….
