Weekend Warrior of Fashion

It started on Friday, with this navy and black outfit. Whoever said navy and black shouldn’t be worn together is a dumbass. This outfit was made in part by Old Navy, whose “jeggings” (worst term ever, makes me feel gross just typing it) are super comfortable, as long as they are worn with a longer shirt to hide the weird crotch. I wore another pair of my Kendra Scott earrings (bought at sample sale for $25!).

That night we decided to have some friends over, and I decided to stop by Madewell on my way home to spend my on-call money on these booties I had been eyeing for what seems like an eternity (three weeks). I spent about an hour trying them on with everything in my closet, trying to find something appropriately transitional. I want to dress for fall but the weather wont let me, so here’s what I came up with:

This was after four virgin spritzers for me (still on-call) and few adult beverages for the cameraman, so you can hardly see the adorable booties, but I’m sure I will be wearing them a lot more as the weather turns. I had a fun time practicing explaining what Well Styled does to my friends, who were all,”How did you land such a cool job??” And I was all, “I have no idea!”

Saturday I got to help Michelle with some more hour-long styling sessions, this time at Beehive, on Bee Caves road in Austin. It was fun to help the ladies find not just dresses this time, but shirts and skirts and accessories galore. I was nervous in the beginning but am learning that trusting my instincts works out, and the ladies got some cute outfits out of the deal. Somehow I managed to refrain myself from buying anything, though I do have my eye on this blazer, which fits perfectly, and has kind of a futuristic feel.

After some on-call work to visit a patient at the hospital near our house, I got gussied up kind of mod-style to go to our across the street neighbors’ house for an AMAZING five-course meal. I of course got a couple of work calls during the meal, but luckily I didn’t have to go anywhere. I’m still thinking of salmon tartare and peppered pasta….mmmm
