Wedding Separates Remix!

Green Pleated Top With Shorts

When I broke all of my publicly-made promises to myself by shopping at Zara and Forever 21 for this 20’s-themed wedding outfit, I made another promise to try to wear the heck out of these items so I wouldn’t be putting my fast-fashion to waste. So I knew when I purchased this top it would be a hit for it’s bright green-ness and it’s lack of clinginess. Having recently discovered the wonders of adhesive bras and bandeaus (as chronicled on my Facebook page), I can now wear spaghetti straps, halters, and racer-back tops with abandon. So here I have paired the versatile top with my trusty neutral shorts in a similar roomy fit, to create a daytime look that works! This top screams for a necklace, so I wore my Kendra Scott Ziggy Pendant.

Side Note: Hey, it’s Austin Fashion Week, and tonight I am helping out with the showcase at the Dress Shop (3rd and Congress) and styling looks for a little runway show. We’re using fall dresses from The Dress Shop, as well as pieces from the local line 81 Poppies, and some amazing jewelry by Rene Guest. If you’re free tonight, come on by and say hi! The festivities start around 6.

  1. Ha! You had me in your first paragraph! Ugh, the dilemma of fast-fashion; so easy but bad, bad, bad. But you sure are atoning in style 😉

I really love the amulet, btw. Is that tiger’s eye or amber?

  2. Rlutz says:

I am in love with that great necklace!

  3. I do believe I will be seeing you this evening! The Dress Shop is my first stop tonight, so I’ll have to say hell and take your picture and follow you around awkwardly. Sound good??

  4. Oh, I love the color of the top! I can definitely see it working with a plethora of different outfits. Great shoes, too!

  5. Jess says:

    The necklace looks so pretty.

  6. Jamie Rose says:

That green top is such a pretty color and looks really nice on you. Cute necklace too!

  7. Lydia says:

That top is gorgeous. Zara can actually do some good things, I think – but it requires careful choosing. My husband (a European) loves that place and I credit them for contributing to his fly-ness.
