The Stuff I Use: Skin (First Edition)

This is NOT a paid endorsement of these products. I wish (because they are expensive)! But I thought I would just go ahead and tell you guys all of my highly-researched and time-honored skin care secrets. I have been spending too much money on my face for some time now, and I tend to get bored of using the same stuff all the time, so for a while I was trying all sorts of different things. That time has passed, and now I only want to use the things that work for me. Mature, right?

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage (I use SC-1)

1. Secret Camouflage: This is concealer that you can customize to your skin tone by blending the two shades onto your skin with a brush. I use the brush they sell with it because I love to make things match, but I’m sure you can find a cheaper one. Do you guys notice the broken capillaries around my nose from all my nerdy allergies? Okay then. This one compact has lasted forever, which might not be all that sanitary, but what else are alcohol swabs for?

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (I use porcelain)

 2. Tinted Moisturizer: I hate the feeling of wearing makeup and never want to look “made up” or as though my neck doesn’t match my face. This was the first LM product I used because it’s not like wearing foundation, but it evens out your skin tone nicely. It’s super light and blends right into your skin (I use my fingers to apply it). Bonus: it doesn’t rub off all over your phone, either.

Laura Mercier Moisturizing Foundation (I use blush ivory)

3. Moisturizing Foundation: I am afflicted with adult-onset acne, especially around the time of my period. That said, some days you need a little more than the good ole tinted moisturizer/concealer combo can provide. This foundation is really lightweight and you can build it up slowly for more coverage. I guess people use sponges or foundation brushes for this stuff, but both of those options freak me out a little, so I just use my fingers. I feel like I can get a more natural look this way.

So, there you have it. 30% of my skincare routine. Oh yeah, there’s more.  I hope you like this type of post, maybe someday I will do a giveaway of some of my favorite stuff….like Oprah!

Thanks for the review on the concealer; I've been using Benefit for my dark circles but have been looking for a new one to try for a while. 😀

Great reviews, I'll have to try some of these out myself!

oh man it is so gross when someone tries to show me something on their phone and it is caked in a fine layer of makeup.

Tinted moisturizer is the bomb, and I so need to check out the secret camouflage… It is so hard to find a concealer the same shade of dead as me.

You should see if the company do an affliates scheme, then youmcould get paid every time one of your readers clicks through and buys a product you recommend. Lots of companies do it now and it's a good way to get your blog making some money.
