Sweatshirt Holiday

Ah, the holidays. I know most people are gearing up for their fancy parties and wearing something sparkly and festive, but there’s also the super comfy side of the holidays. You know, when you don’t have to go to work and you can just sit around and eat chocolate and oranges all day (for instance). For those days, it’s not that important to look cute, but why not try? It really only takes a minimal amount of effort, and no showering is required!

Just try this with your sweatshirt this season:
-a beanie. I mentioned all the myriad of beanie options that exist in a recent Style Tipsheet, but the best thing about a beanie is that it allows you to not have to think about your hair, all the while looking kind of effortlessly cool.
-a denim layer. Keep extra warm when you’re wearing your crewneck sweatshirt by wearing a button-down shirt in a denim or chambray. The casual fabric will blend in with the sweatshirt’s vibe, but also give it a little structure & interest.
stretchy jeans. A must all year long is that perfect pair of skinny jeans that fit like a glove but have enough stretch to allow for high-kicks or extra cookies.
cool kicks. Converse high-tops might be the most classic of all sneakers & won’t ever go out of style, but I’m also getting a lot of wear out of my old school Nike’s. Whatever you do, don’t wear a heel.

So there you have it, a few ideas for making your comfy vacation outfits a little more fun. Try a red or green sweatshirt if you’re determined to be festive.
