This orange-y dress has quickly become a staple of mine because it’s my favorite combination of things: versatile AND unique. The shape and the fit is what makes it versatile, and the color is what makes it unique! Although, this color is verging on burnt orange, which actually makes it less unique around these parts, but I digress…
When layering over your summer or fall dresses, try these little tips!
- If you’re going for a more streamlined look, pair a more fitted piece with your dress so that you’re showing off your figure whilst keeping warm. Your layers will look polished if they fit well, but oversized cardigans can look super stylish too, just pair them with a more slouchy dress.
- If matching your layer-colors intimidates you, go for a combination you’re sure of, and then select your other layers around that one color. It’s easy if you go for neutrals. I picked brown here, and chose to also wear tights and boots in the brown family as well. This is a sure-fire way to stay cohesive!
- That said, if your layer is bright (like my hot pink cardigan), just keep the rest neutral. It’s easy!
I’m a crazy layering fool now that it’s cool enough, so if you feel stumped because you are used to wearing tank tops 9 months of the year, contact me for a styling session! We’ll get you looking totally layered and totally yourself in no time at all!
