Skinny Cargo Pants and….Ankle Boots!

Skinny Cargo Pants Ankle Boots

Okay so maybe I’m not super right on-trend with these pants anymore, but heck! It just got slightly less hot enough to wear pants! So, since my impulse-control post reminded me of these pants from Target, I thought I would try them out with my new ankle boots. I think winter trends last longer in Austin, since no one wears warm clothes long enough to get sick of them. So yes, riding boots are still acceptable!

In person, I felt a little too military in this getup, but in the photos the combination of black boots and green pants doesn’t bother me as much. I tried to balance the toughness of the overall look out with this sheer chiffon blouse, one of my favorite tricks for costuming-down a somewhat themed outfit, but I also could have worn an even girly-er top and would have been fine, too. I scrunched up the pants and sort of shoved them into the tops of my boots, as if it were effortless. Cuffing these pants doesn’t really work somehow.

Special thanks to Grechen for supplying the discount code and to Buffalo Exchange for giving me the ability to purchase these ankle boots of my dreams. You’ll be seeing more of these babies in my next how-to video!

Cute!! Skinny cargos are still going strong in Sydney…they were big this past winter. But I had having trouble styling mine with shoes – I have a much easier time with ballet flats, etc. Thank goodness it’s spring now.
