Saturday Night with Cowboy Boots

Dressy Jeans and Cowboy Boots Outfit

A little while back, I did this post about wearing work pieces casually. I love creating different outfits by mixing work clothes in with more casual clothes–it’s a fun way to extend a wardrobe. But, it’s also fun to take your casual pieces and dress those up, too! How many times have you Texas ladies worn your cowboy boots and jeans, for instance? How many times have you worn them on a Saturday night that doesn’t involve two-stepping or eating BBQ? Same goes for jeans and any flat boot, really, but we’re in Texas, so…Try this next time you’re going out with the ladies!

  • Wear your slim-cut or straight-leg dark jeans tucked into your boots.
  • Wear similar colored boots and jeans (dark on dark). ┬áThis combo will appear more sophisticated and also lengthen your legline.
  • Pair a sexy blouse with your jeans/boots combo. Select something in a simple, flattering cut. If it’s easier, wear all black!
  • If you still don’t feel that dressy, add some sparkly jewelry in the form of a long necklace (as I did) or some big ole earrings.

So there you have it. I am sure lots of you, being from Texas, have already worn this combo, but this look would be super cutting edge where I come from! I love playing with opposites, and this is a super comfortable way to do it.

Oh, and P.S. My Urban Dealight Deal is gonna run through October 1st, so you can still try out my services on the cheap!

Nice job! (Even if you are a Yankee.)
This reaffirms my belief that I need to buy some red jeans to match my red boots.

Love the dark jeans with the black boots. And you look super fly for a night on the town.

So cute! I don’t have any cowboy boots but there are these 80s-ish ones that I keep not wearing…will have to give them another go.

Before I lived in Texas, I hated cowboy boots. Now, I own 2 pairs. However, one of those has zippers… awkward so they are always under the boot legs. I want to buy a couple pairs of vintage ones.

I love your ideas:) I don’t own any cowboy (err…girl) boots, but I do like your tips on wearing dark boots with dark jeans. I’ll have to try that out soon!! Nothing wrong with looking a little taller.

  6. Where do you get boots? I mean I live in nashville so they arent hard to find but they are so dang expensive!!

    • I got mine at a big sale at one of the western stores they have here (but it was over ten years ago that I got these). Usually Cavendar’s or Allen’s have big sales, or you can look at thrift shops to find used or vintage ones.

I have been on the lookout for the perfect cowboy boots for, like, 20 years. I’ve always wanted a pair, ever since I was a kid! I never imagine outfits that look TOO cowgirl-ish. Just the boots are statement enough.

Love this green top on you!

  8. I adore those cowboy boots – they look perfect!! <3
