Mixing Lace and Print

Lace is everywhere this summer, and if you’re one of those ladies who has happened to snag some, I have an idea for you. Why not wear it with a printed piece and give your girly outfit a little playful kick? I usually choose to wear my lace items with more masculine pieces to water down the fem, but I thought I would try something a little different here with this getup. The lace top balances the darker-toned boho shorts quite nicely. Just to even things out, I added these terribly classic flats. I felt like a little bouncy pixie all day, which wasn’t a bad feeling at all. Try wearing your monotone lace with stripes, tweed, and saturated color for a fun outfit that might also make you bounce!

  1. I like it….. no, I love it! I’m so afraid of lace because I feel like I’m not girly enough to pull it off. You’ve given me courage to try it!

I love how you paired these two items. I am personally terrified of lace, even though I do have a couple of pieces. It just sits there in my closet saying wear me, but I can never get the nerve to actually put it on. Perhaps I shall get over that and try and create an outfit around the lace.

  3. I have very few bits of lace sadly. Love your lace tee with those shorts, it makes for such a cute look. (Adoring your tattoo here too!)

LOVES it! Why is that everyone else can find an awesome lace shirt and I am doomed to be without one?

Yay for the adorable bouncing pixie! I’m like you in that I always try to pair lace with something masculine, but I’m up for trying to pair it with a print!

When I was a child, I distinctly remember hating lace. I don’t really know why. But now I love it, and I like it when people mix it up with some prints and colors.
The Anthro shorts are really nice.
Thank you for your comment, by the way. It made me laugh.
    Take care!

Cute idea to pair lace with a pattern. I wish I would’ve picked up a lace top sometime this summer. Maybe there’s still one hanging around a store somewhere!
