Jeans and a T-Shirt

Jeans and a T-Shirt

I get too bored to wear jeans and a t-shirt all the time, though sometimes I crave simplicity. I want something I can run around in, and like a recent commenter, “not show everything to” when I’m doing so. My solution for those days is a striped tee (because stripes are interesting, but still pretty neutral) and some skinny jeans with a little stretch to them. If there’s no stretch, then there’s no running around, people! A good striped tee with a little drape to it, but with darts on the side to give it some flattering shape, is one of the great camouflage techniques if you’re having a little bit of a bloaty day. I was going to wear my clogs (like I do almost every other day) but decided to do the little bootie thing because I just love these shoes so much, and can scamper around more efficiently in them. I think the necklace balances out the boyishness of the boots, plus gold always compliments red. Floaty on top (but not shapeless) and slim on the bottom: viola! I ran around all day without once tugging on my clothes or complaining (about my outfit, at least).

Get ready to see how I wear this red striped shirt with a million other things, too. It was another guilty purchase of mine, but something that had been on my list forever. A perfectly fitted, yet relaxed striped tee. We are a match made in heaven. That’s why I got a navy one too!

  1. I like that the striped shirt is interesting enough [cut, pattern, & color] to look a step up from super casual. Perfect!

Love the simplicity of this outfit. Comfortable yet chic and stylish. This is the kind of outfit I could live in every day. Except all my jeans don’t fit right now thanks to some vacation weight gain.

i’m sort of in love with the sailor-inspired spring fashion. (i might have just made that trend up, but i really do!) i’ve been adding stripes and bright dresses and cute comfortable things to my wardrobe (okay, definitely making the sailor thing up, i’m pretty sure they don’t wear dresses!)

blog comments after being awake for a solid 15 minutes probably aren’t the best idea, but i’ll continue on my sailor post, and say now i’m on the search for a great straw hat, which i’m having the worst time finding, but i’m sure its out there.

    tally-ho! (oh lordie)
