Fashion Marathon!

Yesterday I got to go with Michelle Rodriguez on my first training session for my new wardrobe consulting position with Well-Styled! Michelle has graciously taken me under her wing and is teaching me how to help regular women dress their best. This is the perfect combination of social work and fashion, and so far it doesn’t feel like working at all! You can read more about it on the website:, as I have only seen one part yet, and why should I write what it already says here? It’s late! Anyway, I get to give three lucky ladies a free three-part session for my training and I am pretty excited….This job fits right into my schedule because the sessions take place on the weekends and in the evenings.
This is what I wore to my first session:
Shorts: J.Crew
Clutch: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Blue Elephant
Earrings: from Mana Culture
Sandals: can’t remember, from Stella Says Go (oops), and also bought for and worn with this outfit:
Here’s a quick pic I took before leaving in a big rush to go to the Austin Fashion Week opening party. I really wish I wasn’t so tired because I think it’s going to require some major effort to explain the experience adequately….First of all, it was HOT and it was OUTSIDE. Second of all it was HOT. No one was really talking to each other and it felt like we were all in a fishbowl of people looking at each others’ outfits. I sort of wished I had worn something more outlandish, because most of the attendees seemed to be really taking it super-seriously, and for me, things like that should be FUN, and not so…I dunno….there was lots of free booze, sushi, popcorn, Marlboro Lights, cocaine, and pimps. Well, maybe not the last three things.
Anyway, I chose to wear something white and short because of the heat factor, and I was still sweating all over myself all night long.

Dress: gift from hubby, from Blue Elephant
Necklace: Kendra Scott, (note that my hubby designed the “color bar” part of the website!)
Earrings: (first time wearing real ones!) Mana Culture
Sunglasses: Marc Jacobs, from Last Call

This is one of my favorite pictures of you ever. And not just because I took it.
