Bellybutton, Seriously?

Long Top/Little Shorts

Hell hath frozen over people, because I actually wore an outfit that revealed my rarely-seen bellybutton. I would be more ashamed if this outfit didn’t make me feel so good. I loved every second of sharing a narrow slice of midsection to the 104 degree world on Friday. I went to one fun party and one lame party with Joanna and Margot, and then
(just when our feet nearly fell off) got picked up by Indiana for a delicious meal at Eastside Showroom with the Free People folks. It was the perfect fashion party outfit, actually. The wind caught the tail of my shirtdress!

I doubt I would have ever been caught dead in this outfit if it weren’t for my year-long blog experiment and feeling so frigging WARM. It’s weird what you end up wearing when you just dare to do something crazy and different. It’s sometimes weird and uncomfortable, but other times hits just the right note and gives you the feeling that you can do anything. Gosh, I love fashion.

  5. At this point, I applaud anyone in Austin that finds ways to show a little more skin. It’s just too hot to be fully clothed!! I love your shirtdress- it’s cool and cute, and (with that little midriff showing) just the right amount of sexy :)

Damn guuurl. Don’t hurt ’em! I loved that top on Friday, and I still love it now — on a tasteful Monday. You know what else I love? Your bluebonnet tattoo on the thigh. And another thing? Your dance moves. And? Long John Silvers. Especially in sleeve form.

Thank you for your comment dear!
Sadly we haven’t got an American Apparel store round here, and I dislike ordering clothes online. Plus I don’t wanna spend so much on a skirt I can easily sew. Same for Zara… Plus I’d have to shorten them anyway. So finding one vintage is an option, though the thrift stores in Germany – at least here – aren’t full of great clothes like in the UK or US. Sadly. I’m living in the wrong country! Or just the wrong state. Guess the fastest and most simple way for me getting such a skirt in the colour I want is sewing it. At least I’ve got time for this now.
    Wish you a great week!
